So, to ensure you are fully prepared for both the foreseeable and unpredictable events that the future holds, whether it be a power cut, a break in or even just the absence of key staff, you really need a certified ISO 22301 business continuity management system.
When things do go wrong, a carefully developed and implemented BCMS allows you to respond more quickly and more effectively. You will have methods that have been rehearsed to restore operations to an agreed level and timeframe.
ISO 22301 allows you to identify and mitigate threats and potential crises in your organisation. Additionally, because of the rigours that an ISO system instils, it means that you are able to learn lessons when things do go wrong and reduce the likelihood and severity of similar events in the future.
When things go wrong, you don’t want your operations to come to a halt. At the most basic level, ISO 22301 ensures you have contingency plans to ensure you are able to operate at a minimum acceptable level until conditions return to normal.
